I didn't know the new Speed Racer movie was a Wachowski brothers project. The racing scenes look awesome, but I'm not crazy about the rest of it. As far as casting, I do think Matthew Fox was a good choice for Racer X, but I'm kind of meh about Emile Hirsch...and Christina Ricci and her fivehead make a horrrrrrible Trixie. Keep an eye out for Chim Chim in the trailer.

John Goodman with a moustache is even creepier than I would have imagined.
It reminds me of the Mario Brothers movie just a little too much.
I really think Christina Ricci is too old to play Trixie. I can't fathom casting a couple of the actors - I guess they wanted "star power" and name recognition?
Perhaps you're right. I do agree that Ricci is far too old to be Trixie.
Don't think I'll be wacthing this one, unless it's on cable during one of my many insomnia periods.
