Early in the day one of the local news channels was reporting that the schools in my county would be closed Tuesday, which is the first day of school. This was being reported nowhere else, and later had to be corrected after a message appeared on the school district website - in bold red type - that school was to be open as scheduled until further notice. A news caster actually said during their weather report "We're not in the hype business". Hype? No. A little mindless panic? Why the heck not! We've got all of our basics all set (water...canned goods...flashlights...candles...), and it's all about waiting and watching the weather patterns over the next couple of days. They don't call it a "prediction" for nothing, after all. So for now we're sitting here watching gymnasts commit technical errors and have their dreams dashed.In the spirit of the pending weather, enjoy some flashy boomy video goodness...

We're all set. No school and no work. From the track it looks like it's predictedto be going farther east, so unless there is a sudden shift westward we'll get some winds and rain. Besides, it isn't even an actual hurricane.
