So, it's nice and relaxed and casual right now. Of course, I'm doing my best to keep slacking to a minimum and actaully get work done - I'm right on target for my self-assigned projects for the day, and damn proud of it. Hopefully, I will be able to catch up on some (long) overdue projects here at the workfront, since I don't have bosses shoving more work at me on a daily basis because they don't seem to think I have more than enough to do already. I
keep thinking"Cinder-elly, Cinder-elly!!" in little mouse voices...
I don't think a certain someone is very happy that we've scrapped the typewriter for good. As I said just a few minutes ago "It's gone the way of the dodo". I bought that department a new (and not terribly cheap) label maker that comes with software that enables you to make the labels in word and print them at your desk. She has never bothered to learn how to use it. Well, now she doesn't have much choice. Welcome to the technological age, hon. This is the same clerical support person who had to be taught by her boss last week 1) how to make a proper spreadsheet in Excel and 2) how to do a simple mail merge to make labels and address blocks on letters. The humanity!!

No, the one she has isn't crap like the one we have - it is really rather swank. Cost a fair piece.
Swishy? You got the vapors, darlin'? Care for a mint julep on the porch?
oh, btw, she printed a ton of full color pics 8x10, while u were at lunch. and now, since I've turned into the office rat, I'm going to retire to lunch at my desk. I can't stand up very well right now. vapors indeed.
oh man. walking is fun lemme tell ya.
I prefer to call you a narc. Or stoolie.
Oh, and I had to show her how to add a worksheet in Excel today. What does "clerical skills" mean on the planet she's from? I give her the thumbs down and a generous eye-roll for continuing the hallowed tradition to putting the "un" in "support staff".
