The boss, the boss's boss and the head of HR just paraded down here to take pictures with my coworker because she was selected as one of "employees of the month". They made a big fuss over the fact that she "answers the phones cheerfully, without complaint". Oh really?! Without complaint, eh? I guess I'm suffering from auditory hallucinations, then? And one gets lauded now for answering the damn phones?
Jesus farking cripes.
Is it petty to feel this way over something so trifling? Probably. Do I still feel overlooked and underappreciated, and that I'm toiling away at a damn near thankless job and wasting countless hours behind this desk? Very much so. But I have bills to pay, so I'll grin and bear it...or grit my teeth and stealthily vent to some of my more sympathetic compatriots who are just as demoralized and disgruntled as I am. (Supposedly a friend of mine from upstairs is going to nominate me for the warm and fuzzy Employee of the Month award for this month, anyway, but it's hardly the point if my boss thinks so little of me that HE can't be bothered to freaking nominate me himself. Maybe if I answered phones and surfed the internet all day...)
Regardless, I spent part of the morning updating my resume. Too bad the job market is in the crapper, or I'd throw out a line and see what bites.

I update my resume constantly.
CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!
you should audiotape her and see if you could accidentally have it played over some loud intercom speakers.
it would be a moment of pure revellance. :)
Yeah, I realized I'd let it go for two years. Two years?! No, I must be ready at a moment's notice.
Yeahhhh...this is the same coworker who got an upgraded and reformatted computer, yet states that it still runs sooo slooowww. It's an attention seeking thing, I guess. And it just annoys the living heck out of me!
eh. let it roll off the shoulder.
sometime, when you are not sick of sushi, we shall binge and get buzzed and terrorize baywalk again. or some such.
let me know.
We have to find new territory to ah...terrorize. The Walk on the Bay is a "Dead Zone", only good for being mugged. There are a ton of bars open late downtown, though. I'm not sure if I'm doing the hotel thing or not. I'm thinking maybe not. I just haven't really felt up to it, and I don't think I'd get a babysitter for a whole weekend. I DO want to make plans. We need to get out and cause a little mayhem. I haven't has sushi in a while actually...
